Abstract
The study established that farmers find the local network to be important as a technology
dissemination tool, for mutual support as well as for material support.
The local network influences group members to adopt different innovations at a higher
level than non-group members. This has been achieved through effective communication
of extension messages between farmers and change agents and among farmers
themselves. Farmers who are group members are highly aware of received messages
concerning the innovations.
It is recommended that not only group representatives should participate in network
meetings but also the other group members should be involved so that they can
participate fully in the sharing and exchanging of information.
